Insurgent Teaser Trailer Reaction

Insurgent, without a doubt, is the best book in the the Divergent Trilogy -well at least it is for me.

I found the plot of the said book more complex than its predecessor and overall more entertaining. I just absolutely love this book; and having that said, I guess it becomes understandable why I have a lot of expectations for the upcoming movie adaptation. Now, I have watched a lot of book-to-movie adaptations to know that I shouldn't get my hopes because more often than not, I get disappointed with the movie.  Most of the story line of the movie adaptations are really, really far from the original plot line (I'm looking at you Percy Jackson movies!) which is extremely annoying for I can't help but feel like I'm watching a badly written fan fiction.

Moving on to the trailer...

The trailer starts with Tris standing in some kind of apocalyptic world looking distressed, when she heard a voice call out her name from behind. She turns towards the source of the voice only to find out that it was actually her mother, who was, by the way, diceased. Now, most normal people would have ran like hell is all loose and I wouldn't blame them -in fact, I am most probably be one of those people; after all, it's not everyday you see someone from the dead.

But Tris is not a normal person, no sirree.

Instead, she started running towards her mother. But then, the house that her mother was standing on started burning and was hoisted into the air, which then began drifting away from Tris.

Then, there was long sequence of Tris chasing her mom, which, by the way, is extremely Bad-ass. The trailer ends with Tris and her mom being thrown backwards into an abandoned building.

Insurgent, my favorite book out of the Divergent trilogy.
The trailer looks promising. It made me really excited for the movie. And might I just say that Shailene Woodley's (the girl who plays Tris) acting is the bomb! Sure, the trailer was only about 47 second (at least that was the amount of time where Woodley was shown) but in that 47 seconds you could literally feel the desperation of Tris to reach her mother. So, well done Shailene Woodley, well done.

However, I am bit concerned about how the movie will turn out, seeing that the scene that they showed in the teaser trailer is not written in the book. Now, I am not of those strict, obsessed fan that would point accusingly at the screen and say "That never happened in the book!".

No, just no.

I'm totally fine with the writers adding some extra scenes just as long that they don't stray from the original story line.

The only concern I have with this trailer is I'm afraid that they would follow the footsteps of the Percy Jackson movies.

But nonetheless, as I have said, trailer made the movie seem amazing and I can't wait to watch it!
